First Prize Goes to...The Girl on the Opus Nix

from Momemtun magazine

" After a briefing from their coach, the bigger kids took off. I meant to take pictures of her glorious moment, but I got so excited when I saw Anna Sierra riding that I just cheered. She's a fantastic little rider and gives it her all, but I think her super light Opus Nix, with its quick, easy and smooth shifting, helped too.
Pulling ahead of the kids beside her, Anna Sierra was first across the finish. We all ran out to hug her and just kept on grinning while she accepted her trophy."

Anna Sierra is having a party on the Opus Nix!

Kathleen Wilker

Here's another great blog post by Momentum about our Opus Bikes.
Anna Sierra is having a party on the Opus Nix! There's a picture of her single-handedly lifting it over a log on a recent family mountain biking ride. That's how light and fun it is:

"Anna Sierra rode an Opus Nix that is lightweight and responsive, and Jasper hopped on a trail-a-bike behind Derek who generously rode his old mountain bike. "

WIN! The Opus SCOUT Bike (Value $256)
Canadian company Opus Bikes have long been known for their outstanding racing and mountain bikes. But they also have an extensive children’s line which is designed to keep kids safe while offering unparalleled control while riding. The all-aluminum frames make for lighter bikes that are easier to handle and quicker to start and stop. All bikes are built with pedal and hand brakes, giving kids the same powerful control while riding as grown-ups have. And the headsets are built to prevent handlebars and forks from spinning freely, resulting in even greater control and no jack knifing. See the whole line at www.opusbikes.com. WIN! The Opus Scout bike for 5 to 8 year olds.

The ABC's of Opus Kids' Bikes

At Opus, we know that choosing a bicycle for your kids can sometimes be a challenge. That's why we have put together the ABC's of Opus kids' bicycles....hope you find it useful!

A: Aluminium
While most of the other options in the market use steel frames and forks on smaller models, we use aluminium. The reason for this is simple, a lighter bike is easier for a kid to handle it will ride better and it will be quicker to start and stop.

B: Brakes
We all grew up with coaster brakes, but soon learned the benefits of powerful hand brakes--- so why penalize the younger riders by making them wait? We feel the sooner they get used to hand brakes the better. Even our run bikes have them!

C: Control
A lighter bike with more powerful brakes will be easier to control and safer to operate. Our kids bikes also feature a specially designed headset that does not allow the handlebars and fork to spin freely, resulting in greater control and no jack knifing.

The ABC’s of Opus Kids—making better bikes for better memories.
